Most people are under the impression a "beach" is a "beach". Personal experience will tell you this is not true, walking on hundreds of beaches in dozens and dozens of islands, we can guarantee ALL beaches are NOT the same. Different colors and textures, many are swimmable, while others are dangerous. Pretty to look at and walk along but dangerous if you tried to go for a swim.

If you are a beach snob, ( guilty :) you'll want to know the difference, before spending your hard earned dollars on a beach vacation that wasn't what you really expected.
The Dominican Republic largest airport is Punta Cana. You can reach hundreds of resorts from this airport between 15 minutes to 60 minutes away. Punta Cana International Airport receiving flights from 26 countries and up to two million passengers a year.
Want to sail? Since 2017, the area is also a sailing destination thanks to Marina Cap Cana, which now welcomes small luxury yachts and other boating enthusiast.

Before you head out for your trip you need to know a few things.
All travelers are required to have a valid passport book. No matter the age of the traveler, visitors from most North and Central American Countries need a passport and do not need a tourist Visa. You'll want to make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months PAST your travel dates, the government of Dominican Republic requires.
E Ticket - customs/ visitor forms are moving on line. Before you head to the D.R. you need to gather your travel information, passport and enter these item on the countries E Ticket site. There is no charge, if you are asked for a fee, you are on the wrong site. Visitor are allowed to stay for 30 days. E ticket Link here
The countries depart tax is typically included with most airline tickets.
